According to Nielsen Books UK, in 2023, consumers spent £26m on translated fiction print books, up 12% on the previous year. This panel aims to unpack such growing popularity in translated fiction and explore its changing landscape in the publishing world by asking what thematic trends can we see emerging in works of translation, why are these books so special to readers and how can publishers continue to invest in international talent? This panel showcases the cultural diversity and intersectionality at the heart of translation and the importance of championing new voices in publishing.
This panel will take place at the Courtyard.
