Every year the SYP meets in January in the historic Stationers’ Hall to say farewell to the pass the torch from one committee to the next. Both the UK and London committees announce their new members and look ahead. There will be a recap of the whole SYP year from different committee members, followed by a panel of experts to discuss a hot topic in the industry.
For the 2019 AGM, to celebrate the 70th year the SYP have been running, we will be looking at what the next 70 years have in store with the theme of Shaping the Next 70 Years of Publishing. The event take place on Tuesday 29 January 2019, and will begin at 6.30 p.m. and end at 9.45 p.m.
Included here will be a small exhibition involving past issues of InPrint organised by Maria Vassilopoulos (@mv_books) and, of course, drinks and refreshments.
On top of that, there will be an informative and entertaining panel. Topics to be discussed during it range from what advancements are likely to happen in the book world in the coming years and beyond, all the way through to who will those deciding the future be? (Hint, probably you attendees.)
SYP members and non-members alike are welcome to attend, but only SYP members can vote on any movements made in the AGM. An extra 50 tickets have been made available for the event and, as the previous 50 were snapped up quickly, be sure to get yours soon.
Join us on the Tuesday 29 January 2018 to meet our new committee and to join in the discussion, which is all about…
Shaping the Next 70 Years of Publishing
