The oldest branch of the Society of Young Publishers, we continue to deliver speaker and social events for those in, and breaking into, the London publishing scene. In addition to our monthly panels, socials and Book Club, we also provide workshops for both publishing professionals and aspiring publishers
Every year, we run a two-stream mentorship scheme – SYPInto and SYPAhead. SYPInto is dedicated to supporting those just starting out in the industry, while SYPAhead is aimed at those already working in publishing and who are looking to progress.
Some of the annual events we host are the hugely popular Career Speed Dating event, and a Pub Quiz in aid of The Book Trade Charity.
We also alternate with the SYP Oxford branch to host the SYP’s annual Autumn conference.
Just like with the rest of the SYP Committees (UK, Ireland, North, Oxford, Scotland, South West, Wales), applications to be part of the London committee open once a year, around December. Learn more on how to apply here.
