Sales Executive

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Executive to join our friendly and busy team based in our Islington office. The role will support our Special Sales Director in selling to a wide range of national and specialist wholesalers and retailers. This position is interesting, varied and is a fantastic opportunity to progress a career in Children’s Publishing. The ideal candidate will be passionate about children’s books and have some publishing or bookselling experience.

Key responsibilities include:
• Sales & administrative support for Special Sales Accounts
• Preparing Excel grids, sales kits, and PowerPoint presentations
• Attending customer meetings
• Manage select list of accounts
• Attending bookfairs, sales conferences and internal publisher meetings
• Processing orders and returns
• Working closely with select publishers, communicating title updates and information to the sales force, and ensuring all covers and material are available by key deadline dates
• Maintain customer requirements in a timely manner, from stock to sales materials

Experience/skills required:
• Sales experience and a high level of customer service
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• An enthusiastic team player
• Organised with an attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and excellent time management
• Proactive and able to use initiative
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro
• A keen interest in children’s books and lots of enthusiasm!
• Ability to develop a strong rapport with booksellers and buyers alike
