Job description

We are looking for a Rights Assistant to join our thriving Children’s Rights team at Bloomsbury Children’s Books to provide administrative support to the Rights Managers responsible for selling licences and co-editions.

The Rights Assistant will play a vital role in the Rights team and the company. This an exciting opportunity for a Rights Assistant with good experience looking for a new challenge or as an entry level position.

The role reports to the Head of Children’s Rights.

• General admin support including but not limited to processing contracts, gratis orders, sending out translated author copies, and electronic file supply
• Manage co-edition fulfilment, including loading deals onto Biblio, maintaining schedules, obtaining customer files and approval of materials, invoicing
• Respond to internal and external queries from colleagues, customers and authors
• Support the rights team in preparation for key book fairs and sales trips
• Support the rights team in administrative management of our major fiction brands, including but not limited to Harry Potter and Sarah J. Maas
• Provide assistance in the preparation of rights guides and catalogues
• Maintain and update our industry-leading rights website
• Compile and send out email newsletters to customers and maintain contacts lists
• Sell cover, illustration and marketing materials to international publishing partners

The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday

• Interest in Rights selling and passion for books
• Proficient in Excel and MS office applications
• Confident in use of creative/design software such as Photoshop and email marketing software
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to manage varied workload and identify priorities effectively
• Time-management ability, attention to detail and a can-do attitude towards problem-solving
• Exceptional collaborative and communication skills
• An interest in other countries and cultures
