Job description

Cornerstone is looking for an Editorial Assistant to work on our literary fiction publishing. The successful candidate will work with the authors of the publishing directors, across Hutchinson Heinemann, an imprint characterised by the bold storytelling and the cultural resonance of its fiction and non-fiction. Authors you’ll be working with closely include Taylor Jenkins Reid, Amor Towles, Lauren Groff, Richard Powers, Jennie Godfrey, Rachel Khong, Sebastian Faulks and Olivia Gatwood.

The role will involve a wide array of editorial and administrative tasks, including:

- Managing book and prize submissions
- Processing expenses
- Maintaining internal systems
- Proofreading book covers
- Writing descriptive copy for books and marketing materials
- Offering feedback on book proposals and manuscripts

- Is highly efficient, organised and proactive, with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload.
- Has a meticulous eye for detail and for spotting (and solving) problems before they arise.

You don’t need previous publishing experience; merely an interest in books and a willingness and ability to learn.
