Job description
This role would suit candidates who are starting out in an editorial career. They will be passionate about children's books, curious and keen to learn. They will also be well-organised, enjoy a challenge, and excited to build their knowledge of all aspects of colour publishing.
A core member of the illustrated publishing team, key responsibilities of the role include:
• Providing administrative, organisational and editorial support to the department
• Creating and maintaining bibliographic data, schedules and publishing programmes
• Assisting in the preparation of editorial content for sales and marketing materials
• Helping with copy-editing or proofreading of content as required
• Organising and minuting key departmental meetings
• Liaising with authors, illustrators and agents as required
• Over time, supporting editors with creative editorial tasks including checking layouts, drafting cover copy, and reading submissions
This is a full-time role based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday.
