Calling all book lovers and publishing hopefuls!
Join us for a day of literary clues, bookshop browsing, and networking in Leeds.
What’s the plan?
We’ll kick things off by meeting at Leeds Train Station, where you’ll receive a set of prompts to guide your journey. You’ll be tasked with spotting local landmarks, hunting for themed book covers, and solving clues.
Expect prompts like:
‘Take a photo at this Leeds landmark’
‘Find a book with a cat on the cover’
‘Visit this indie bookshop’
Discover local gems
Along the way, you’ll be stopping at some of Leeds’ indie bookshops, giving you the perfect excuse to browse or buy as many books as you like (we don’t judge)!
Meet fellow bookish folks
At the end of the hunt, you’ll have the opportunity to join us at a local cafe for a relaxed meet-up. This is your chance to chat, network, and socialise with fellow publishing hopefuls, readers, writers, and book lovers. This will be really informal and optional.
Did someone mention prizes?
As you make your way across Leeds, there will be books waiting to be found… We’ll also be looking for you to take fun and creative photos in response to our prompts – the most creative will win bookish treats!
The Leeds Lit Hunt is a free, informal event open to anyone who loves books and a bit of fun. We welcome you to come solo or invite a friend!
