SYP UK at London Book Fair: The Price(s) of Publishing

Run by the Society of Young Publishers, this panel will explore how the cost of living crisis will impact the industry, its staff and its readers. It will look at topics such as rising retail costs, budget management, and what steps can be taken to support those in need within and outside the industry.
The event will take place at the London Book Fair in the English PEN Literary Salon, anyone with a LBF pass is more than welcome to attend!

Panelists for The Price(s) of Publishing

Louise Corcoran (She/Her) , Key Accounts Manager, Bounce Sales and Marketing

I worked in bookselling for a decade before joining Bounce in 2016, and was London rep before becoming Key Accounts Manager – I also moved back up north during this time. I look after Bounce’s key library and educational suppliers alongside accounts in the north of England. Outside of work I enjoying, running, live music and playing the saxophone.

Srishti Kadu (she/her) Procurement Controller, Taylor & Francis Group 

Srishti moved to the UK from Mumbai, India to study English Literature and Creative Writing at Lancaster University. She ran the University’s ‘Flash Literary Journal’ which at the time was an online-only journal, but Srishti successfully pitched for funding, bringing the publication into print for the first time. After graduating she worked at Carnegie Publishing as a Book Design and Publishing Assistant and made local news as a winner of the Print Futures Award, run by the Printing Charity. She has also won the London Book Fair’s Trailblazer Award in 2022. 

She is currently a Procurement Controller in the Books Publishing Services team at Taylor & Francis, working closely with printers and production teams to ensure their books are available globally. She is also an SYP UK mentor and a Lancaster University Careers Mentor.

Victoria Perry, Chief Executive of Book Trade Charity

Vic is Chief Executive of The Book Trade Charity and joined them from the charity Home-Start UK where she supported their corporate partnership with John Lewis and Waitrose. Before that, she worked with Jaguar Land Rover delivering charitable partnerships and was Chief Executive of EIL UK, a youth education charity, part of a global Federation afforded UN Peace Messenger status. She spends her spare time with her family and two dogs and enjoys bike rides, travelling, Eurovision and a good biography.
