Join SYP North and SYP Oxford for our next Zoom book club at 6:30pm on 23 November 2021.
For our last book club of the year, we are very excited to be chatting all about the wonderful No One is Talking About This by debut novelist Patricia Lockwood!
We put it to a vote on our Twitter @SYPNorth and you decided on our November Booker Prize shortlist read. No One is Talking About This has made a big splash this year, having been shortlisted for both the Booker Prize and the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2021, and it’s a fantastic choice of book to finish the year on!
If you haven’t heard what it’s about yet, here’s what you need to know…
This is a story about a life lived in two halves.
It’s about what happens when real life collides with the world accessed through a screen.
It’s about where we go when existential threats loom and high-stakes reality claims us back.
It’s about living in world that contains both an abundance of proof that there is goodness, empathy, and justice in the universe, and a deluge of evidence to the contrary.
Irreverent and sincere, poignant and delightfully profane, No One Is Talking About This is a meditation on love, language and human connection from one of the most original voices of our time.
If you want to join us to discuss the fantastic No One is Talking About This then all you need to do is register for free and put the date in your diary.
