In celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month in June, join the SYP and our guests at The Crown Tavern Clerkenwell from 6.30pm on Monday 20th May to discuss identity and inclusivity in publishing with a focus on the emergence, acceptance, and celebration of queer voices within the industry and beyond.
This will be a lively, wide-ranging conversation, exploring the importance of minority voices – how to be heard and how to listen. The evening offers a fascinating opportunity, filled with personal insights, to explore qualities and questions central to any career, from respecting difference to encouraging your own unique voice and those of the people around you. The panel will kick off at 7pm, followed by a Q&A session and casual networking afterwards.

Lisa Williamson (@lisa_letters) Best-selling author of YA fiction and winner of the 2016 Waterstones Children’s Book Prize for Older Fiction for her debut, The Art of Being Normal.
Charlie Morris (@charlieinabook) Former bookseller and current Senior Publicity and Marketing Executive at Little Tiger Group, as well as Social Media Manager for the Pride in Publishing network.
Andrew James (@andrew_JKP) Senior Editor at JKP Books and co-chair of the Hachette UK Pride Network. He has been in publishing since 2010 and in 2018 featured on The Bookseller’s list of Rising Stars.
Cynthia So (@cynaesthete) One of the new voices in #ProudBook, an anthology of LGBTQ+ YA stories and poems, published by Stripes Books in March. Cynthia is working on her first YA novel.
