Independent publishers – nimble, able to adapt to the changing political environment, and more powerful than you think.

Join us from 6:30pm on the 13th March at the Crown Tavern for an exciting panel on the independent publishing scene, with your chance to ask questions and network with a drink afterwards.

The panel will kick off at 7pm, followed by a Q&A session and drinks. Tweet your thoughts from the panel by using our event hashtag #SYPIndies to help others follow along from afar.

These days, it can be argued that independent publishers are those willing to take risks and invest in new authors and audiences. And with indie publishers picking up prizes and acclaim at an enviable pace, we want to know what they look for in a book or author and how they really work behind the scenes.

On what basis do indies commission books? What is it like to work for a smaller publisher? How can you pull off a solid marketing campaign with a lower budget?
