New publishing jobs are being created all the time but employers often complain that applicants lack the necessary skills or experience. Getting into publishing can involve a significant investment of time and money, so how do you know you are headed in the right direction? Aimed at those wishing to get their first job in publishing or to quickly climb the career ladder, the Society of Young Publishers has put together expert panels to answer your questions and to give practical advice.
It can often be difficult to get that second or third job and make yourself really stand out from the crowd. We will hear from young publishers and/or booksellers who have managed to establish successful careers and garner industry recognition within the early stages of their careers. Both seminars will give our members real insight and practical tips to help them reach their potential in publishing.
