Career Café: Production

Join us on the 2nd July at 6pm on Zoom for the next installment in our new series of events, Career Café! This week it’s all about Production. Come along to connect with professionals already in the industry, learn about how to get into production, or quiz our panel on how to get ahead in your publishing career. Our fabulous panel will be there to chat about anything and everything and answer your questions about their journeys and production in general. Whether you’re looking to get into production or you already work there, our panellists are here for everyone!

Panellists:

After previously studying English Literature at Edinburgh university, Rebecca Bonallie graduated with an MSc in Publishing from Edinburgh Napier University in 2017. She is currently Production and Inventory Controller at Canongate Books, having started her publishing career there as a Production Assistant.

Amy Wong is a Production Controller at Bloomsbury, working on adult fiction and non-fiction. She is also the Secretary for Bloomsbury’s Diversity & Inclusion Working Group and the UK Vice-Chair of the Society of Young Publishers. Amy started her career in children’s publishing.

Sinead Hering is a Production Controller at Hardie Grant UK with 2 years of publishing experience. She works on both 4 colour and monobooks, and controls new titles, co-editions and reprints. She obtained her MSc in Publishing from Edinburgh Napier University and her MSc in Spatial Development and Natural Resource Management from the Technical University of Dresden. She is one of the Career Support Officers at the SYP London.

Zoë Jellicoe is a Production Editor at Bloomsbury Academic, with responsibility for the Film & Media and Philosophy lists. She has previously worked in editorial roles in Dublin, Brussels and Berlin, across book, magazine, online publishing and video game journalism.

Chair:

Farzana Khan is a Production Controller at Hachette Children’s, having started her career at Canongate Books as Production Assistant. She is currently the Co-Head of Events for SYP London.

This event is FREE for members and £3 for non-members.
