#BeBoldforChange – Celebrating Women in Publishing

April 12, 2017 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Come and celebrate women’s successes in publishing with the SYP on Wednesday 12th April! International Women’s Day was just a few weeks ago on March 8th, so it’s the perfect time to get vocal about women’s publishing careers.

We will be joined by an exciting panel of speakers – Sarah Savitt, Deputy Publisher at Virago, the international publishing house of books by women, will be telling us about the inspiring women’s voices that she is publishing, and Leander Reeves, Senior Lecturer in Publishing at Oxford Brookes University, will share her experience on women’s careers and how to succeed at the top levels.

*New Speakers announced!*

Don’t miss the chance to hear from two successful literary agents:

Carrie Plitt – literary agent at Felicity Bryan Associates. Carrie is building a list of both non-fiction and fiction with a focus on literary and upmarket commercial titles. She also hosts a monthly books talk show and podcast on NTS Radio called Literary Friction.

Rowan Lawton – co-founder and director of literary agency, Furniss Lawton – part of the largest UK talent agency. Between them, Rowan and co-founder, Eugene Furniss, have represented more than 60 Sunday Times Bestelling Writers.

Free for SYP members; £2 for non-members.

Bar, networking opportunities, and (feminist!) book raffle prize…
