The Oxford committee of the SYP is run by a group of enthusiastic and friendly volunteers who put on regular speaker events, socials, book clubs, and much more for people interested in publishing based in Oxford and the surrounding area.
With some of the world’s largest academic presses based here, Oxford is the hub of scholarly publishing in the UK but the city also boasts a thriving indie scene; from comics to children’s, professional to Bible publishers, the City of Dreaming Spires has it all! People from all over the world come to Oxford to work in or study publishing, with Oxford Brookes University hosting its well-known International Centre for Publishing Studies.
