BookMachine Announce Team Unplugged

BookMachine has picked Team Unplugged: a selection of industry professionals at a number of UK publishers primed to spread the word about the BookMachine Unplugged event series, set to launch in January.

The team is made up of people from small and large publishers including Claire Morrison at Dorling Kindersley, Lamorna Elmer at Granta, James Jones at One World, Emma Smith at Orion and Lisa Goll at Bloomsbury, among many others. They have been recruited to ensure that those who might not normally go to industry focussed events or aren’t on social media, will still have the opportunity to attend the events and expand on their personal knowledge, ideas and development.

The motivation behind the team is also to directly find out from individuals across the trade how BookMachine can support them and their colleagues, with training, events and networking opportunities.

After seven years of organising sell-out events, BookMachine Unplugged will focus on Design, Production, Publicity and Marketing, Editorial and Tech, with expert speakers for each. The series has been curated to encourage the industry to talk about what is happening now, rather than speculating about the future or reminiscing about the past; by fully understanding what are colleagues are doing, how processes have changed and how to work better together, our publishing can improve.

The event series will be officially announced in January 2018, including the speaker line up and dates.
