Aspiring and existing publishing professionals will have the chance to boost their publishing skills, with each Publishing Skills Workshop focusing on a different area of publishing. The free, interactive workshops exclusively for SYP members will be led by industry experts and offer a real chance to learn and take something away.
Sales is one area of publishing that you may not know much about, but one which is completely integral to the success of any book or publishing house. If you’re interested in travel, building relationships and strategic thinking, sales might be the perfect fit for you. The final SYP Publishing Skills Workshop of the year will focus on this exciting and expansive slice of the publishing world, hosted by Chrissy Ryan, Export Sales Manager at Head of Zeus.
Chrissy started her publishing life as a bookseller in an independent bookshop and soon became London Sales Manager for Head of Zeus. This involved working closely with bookshops and museums to place titles, manage promotions and much more. In her current position, she handles sales in all international territories, managing export publishing strategies and budgets. With experience at home and overseas, she is perfectly positioned to answer all your questions about working in sales.
The workshop will take place at Head of Zeus on Wednesday 5th December, 18:30–20:30. Places are limited so please only book a ticket if you are certain you can attend.
