Welcome to our digital exhibition space for our hybrid exhibitors (there will be more exhibitors in-person at the conference too!)

The White Horse Press
The White Horse Press is a very small, fully independent family-run scholarly press specialising in ‘environment and society’ – by which we mean humanities and social sciences research with an environmental perspective. We publish six journals and four or five books a year, with most of our current and forthcoming content now released on an open access basis. We have particular emphases on environmental history, environmental ethics, interdisciplinary plant studies and the study of nomadic cultures. Within that, we’re actively trying to develop our list in relation to Latin American and Eastern European topics; more-than-human histories; and histories (or other forms of HSS research) concerning mountains, the sea and walking. The press originated on the Isle of Harris but is now run mainly from Edinburgh and rural Cambridgeshire. We’ve been going since the early 1990s and have played an important role in supporting and developing the academic niches we work in.

Out of the Blueprint
Out of the Blueprint is a risograph print studio, based in The Drill Hall in Leith, which has a particular focus on supporting young people under 25. We use two Japanese eco printing processes (Risograph and Gocco) printing to produce beautiful and unique artwork, posters, flyers, T-shirts, tote bags, mags, comics and zines. We use the income from commercial jobs to support our core work with young people. Our goal is to help young artists to realise their potential, whatever stage they’re at.
By printing with us, your print job gives us valuable work to produce alongside our trainees; young people with barriers to employment or additional support needs gaining hands-on experience of a working studio in a friendly, nurturing environment. This also helps us generate revenue which we can then use to fund paid residencies for artists at the start of their careers, as well as helping young people with great ideas print and publish their own comics and zines.
Out of the Blueprint has 3 main areas of operation:
● Print – An eco friendly and affordable print service for our local community.
● Training – Supportive training for young people with barriers to employment.
● Creative – Workshops, creative projects and residencies to support young artists
Printing

Training
We offer training opportunities for young people with barriers to employment, providing hands-on experience of a working studio in a friendly, nurturing environment for those who need it most.
Creative
Over the past decade we have developed a dynamic programme of workshops, residencies, exhibitions, publications and events.
