Job description
Key Responsibilities
• Managing and maintaining the subscription database
• Responding to subscriber queries and processing orders
• Fulfilling online shop orders and liaising with distributors and stockists
• Supporting the Director with general office administration – including email correspondence, answering phones, calendar management and ordering supplies
• Planning and delivering subscription renewal and promotional campaigns
• Assisting with the organisation and delivery of events (occasionally outside office hours)
• Posting and managing stock of magazines and promotional materials
• Coordinating advertising enquiries and sales
• Reporting sales figures and analysing marketing performance
• Collaborating with editorial and marketing teams on outreach and promotions
• Helping to manage the online shop and back issue listings
• Creating marketing assets – skills in design, audio or video editing are a strong advantage (training can be provided)

You will have a strong interest in literature and publishing, a meticulous eye for detail, and a proactive approach to administration, logistics and communication. This is a varied and rewarding role that suits someone who enjoys working across multiple areas – from managing subscriptions and fulfilling orders to helping organise events and contributing to marketing campaigns.
You will be highly organised, self-motivated and eager to contribute to the smooth running of a respected cultural publication. You’ll be comfortable taking initiative and working flexibly within a small, collaborative team. You’ll have excellent communication skills, the confidence to liaise with subscribers and external agencies, and the ability to manage a varied workload with care and precision.
Experience with Excel, WordPress, Mailchimp and CRM or database tools is desirable, as are skills in Adobe Creative Suite and basic media editing. A positive attitude, adaptability and a keen interest in the literary world are essential.
