We are recruiting an Editor to join a dynamic, high performing team at an exciting moment of growth and momentum for Ebury, the UK’s largest non fiction publisher.

The Self hub are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Editor to support the senior commissioning team and help create bestselling books that inform, empower and spark new directions.

Reporting to the Editorial Director, you will project manage acquired titles through the whole publishing process to the finished product. The role includes drafting cover copy, briefing jackets, creating and liaising on production schedules and negotiating with freelancers. It’s the perfect next step for a self-starting assistant editor with a positive can-do attitude and a strong team player.


We’d love it if you had…

You will:
• Have experience project managing UK originated titles through the whole publishing process, ideally with structural and line editing experience
• Have an eagle-eye for detail, with excellent proofreading skills
• Have the ability to multitask, prioritise a varied workload and proactively manage deadlines and budgets
• Be a confident and sensitive communicator, able to establish and maintain effective relationships and deliver stand-out author care
• Have an interest in audience needs and trends within the health and wellbeing genres and able to craft creative copy and clear design briefs that demonstrate this

Minimum criteria
• Have experience project managing UK originated books through the whole publishing process
• Be organised, able to prioritise and manage budgets
• Have high levels of attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
• Be able to craft copy for title information sheets, covers and cover briefs
• Have an interest in the non-fiction areas that the Self hub at Ebury publish
