The Spare Room Project

The Spare Room Project and the Spare Zoom Project

Opening a Door to Publishing

The Spare Room Project and the Spare Zoom Project are regional diversity initiatives that aim to increase the accessibility of the publishing industry for aspiring publishers based across the UK and Ireland.

In the Spare Room Project, industry professionals provide temporary accommodation and, in the Spare Zoom Project, professionals are matched up with a hopeful or early-career professional for a half-hour discussion about the industry over Zoom.

The Spare Room Project was set up in 2016 by James Spackman, publisher and consultant. We are delighted to offer the Spare Room Project and the Spare Zoom Project a new home at the Society of Young Publishers!

Please reach out to our newly recruited Spare Room Project Officer on spareroomproject@thesyp.org.uk if you have any questions.
