SYP Annual Pub Quiz

On 22 August we indulged in a night like no other, the SYP Annual Pub Quiz! The Shillibeer’s Bar & Grill was full to the brim of bright publishing junkies, with wine and pens at the ready to win some serious ‘piles of stuff’ in various sizes.

Our host for the evening was absolutely fantastic, offering friendly (and slightly scary) ice breakers in between rounds including a member of the winning team standing atop of his table swinging a t-shirt around his head and announcing ‘I am Spartacus!’- I think that sums up the evening rather nicely…

With eight rounds of literary fun we dabbled in everything from famous literary locations, an imaginative pot luck round and the ever popular picture round where we had to name classic titles against their book cover.

We saw the scores on the doors regularly, a chance to name and shame and see the real separation between the winners and those trailing slightly behind; in the end consistency and good all round knowledge came through, and the winner is…..SPECIFIC PENGUINS!
