Due to Covid-19 we have moved our meeting online while we all try do our bit to encourage social distancing and help keep everyone keep safe. Each month has a diffrent theme and the next book will be voted for, via Twitter Poll following our discussion!

During times of crisis we often turn to books as an escape from the stress and uncertainity that surrounds us. That is why this month our choosen theme is “comfort reads” – gentle, reasurring, feel good novels that have proven to be a great source of relief in times of trouble.

Book: I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith

Synopsis: Cassandra Mortmain lives with her bohemian and impoverished family in a crumbling castle in the middle of nowhere. Her journal records her life with her beautiful, bored sister, Rose, her fading glamorous stepmother, Topaz, her little brother Thomas and her eccentric novelist father who suffers from a financially crippling writer’s block.
