SYP London brings you PubTalks: a new series of panel events, always free to enter, that explores the different parts of the Publishing Industry and how to get started in a career in Publishing, whether that be for Production, Marketing, Editorial, Sales or Rights, we’ve got you covered.
We welcome students and graduates from all fields to come and learn what the industry is about, what your options are, and how to get started after university.
We will have a panel of brilliant speakers in entry-level roles across various departments, letting us know how they got their job, and what it entails day-to-day. Attendees will then have the opportunity to ask questions both at the end of the panel and during the drinks that follow the talk. We can’t wait to see you all there!

MEET THE SPEAKERS
Georgia Summers: After working in a rare books library, Georgia Summers spent two years bookselling at Waterstones. She then interned at Oneworld before joining Pan Macmillan as an Editorial Assistant for Fiction and Tor. She likes cats, coffee and most wizards. She can be found on Twitter as @ge_summers.
Annie Gnoan: Annie Gnoan studied MA Publishing at Kingston University, graduating in January 2019 and is now enjoying her role as Rights Assistant at Pan Macmillan – Macmillan Children’s Books. Annie is adamant that the future of publishing is fresh and vibrant!
Katie Meegan: Katie Meegan is from north east Ireland has a degree in English Studies at Trinity College Dublin. She worked in journalism for a year before undertaking the Publishing MA at UCL. She now works as a Foreign Rights Assistant for Welbeck Publishing Group. She also writes creatively and was the winner of the UCL Publishers Prize
