A Statement from The Society of Young Publishers

Posted on April 5, 2020 in UK

Due to the continued uncertainty surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19), The Society of Young Publishers has taken the decision to cancel all upcoming in-person events. As announced by our Scotland branch yesterday, this includes our upcoming conference, as well as smaller socials such as book clubs and panels.

As an organisation our aim is to support the career aspirations of our members, but our priority is ensuring the physical and mental well-being of everyone we come into contact with.

Although we are unable to run physical events, that does not mean we will be inactive. We will provide you with useful content throughout this period.

Each of our committees has been busy coming up with ideas on how to keep providing a service to our members. From hosting webinars, giveaways and virtual book clubs, to providing articles on career advice and more, we are working hard to ensure we continue supporting our members – be it those trying to get into the publishing industry, or those trying to get ahead within it.

Please keep an eye out for all future announcements and email sypchair@thesyp.org.uk if you have any questions.

Take care,
All of those at The Society of Young Publishers
