Shortlisted candidates will also receive a one-day training course courtesy of the PTC.

Miriam Robinson, Head of Marketing at Foyles and winner of the 2013 Prize said:
‘I’m amazed at how much it means to win. It was this moment of matching up what I felt I had done but hadn’t really shouted about and what all of these people were recognising. I received congratulations from people across the industry, which makes it ten times easier to make the next step in your career when you want to.’

This year’s judges include: from the Prize Committee, Catherine Clarke, Literary Agent and Managing Director, Felicity Bryan Associates and Denise Johnstone-Burt, Publisher, Walker Books who are Co-chairs of the panel, the 2013 SYP Chair, Lottie Chase, Export Sales Executive, Quercus Books; and last year’s winner, Miriam Robinson.

The 2014 shortlist will be announced at 2.30pm (GMT) on Tuesday 8 April 2014 at the SYP’s ‘How to Get Ahead in Publishing’ session in the Conference Centre at the London Book Fair. The winner will be announced at ceremony at the Free Word Centre in Central London on Tuesday 13 May.
