SYP @Phoenix

On March the 18th, the SYP hosted a networking event and social at the Phoenix Artist Club in the West End. At the first in what may prove to be a series of networking events aimed primarily at first, second and third jobbers, young publishers from HarperCollins, Headline, Macmillan, LexisNexis, Jessica Kingsley Publishers, Punk Publishing and SelfMadeHero, amongst many others, mingled over champagne and sausage rolls.

The aim of the @Phoenix events is to provide a relaxed setting in which to meet and socialise with like-minded young publishers, rather than a more conventional and formal networking event. After all, the young publishers of today and the big-players of tomorrow, and contacts made early on in a career can often prove the most fruitful and unforced. The free-flowing drinks certainly helped things along, as attendees traded publishing anecdotes and tips. Keep an eye on the SYP events listings here for future @Phoenix events.
