Following ducks seems to be Daisy's path at the moment, having recently completed a degree in Marketing from Edge Hill University where the campus is full of ducks, to now working as a Publicity Assistant as Oxford University Press where there are even more ducks! Social Events Coordinator - Georgina Leighton
Georgie currently works at Oxford University Press as an Assistant Commissioning Editor, having initially stumbled across the Press’ summer internship scheme after completing a BA in Philosophy and German at the University of Oxford. She and Kate will be dreaming up some exciting SYP Oxford social events and looking forward to seeing you there!
Social Events Coordinator - Kate McNamara
Kate is a graduate of English Studies at Trinity College Dublin, and Publishing Studies at the University of Stirling. She has worked at McGraw-Hill Education and Oxford University Press and is now Assistant Marketing Manager at Wiley. Marketing Coordinator - Laura Holliday
Laura is a graduate of Publishing from Edinburgh Napier, and Design with English Language from Kingston University, who now works as an Associate Marketing Manager on Medical books at Taylor & Francis. Whilst studying her publishing master’s degree in Edinburgh she was a member of the SYP there and thoroughly enjoyed the events they held and found them to be not only fun but extremely useful for networking too! Laura is looking forward to having an amazing 2017 working on marketing the SYP with Karen and the rest of the amazing committee! It’s going to be a great year!
Marketing Coordinator - Karen Raith
Karen is a graduate of English and Scottish Literature at the University of Edinburgh and MLitt in Publishing at the University of Stirling. Since graduating from Stirling, she has been an Editorial Assistant at John Wiley and Sons, Development Editor at Kogan Page, and is currently Senior Assistant Commissioning Editor at Oxford University Press (aka Hogwarts).
Conference Coordinator - Hannah Charters
Hannah is a Literature graduate from the University of Warwick. She started her life in publishing doing internships in London, before settling down in Oxford at Oxford University Press, where she is now a Marketing Manager for the academic list of online resources. She is looking forward to helping organise SYP Oxford’s forthcoming conference this year.
Oxford Brookes Student Liaison - Siân Heap
Siân recently graduated with a degree in English and Modern History from the University of St Andrews. She misses the permanent grey sky and sandy beaches with all of her heart. She is now studying the MA Publishing Media at Oxford Brookes and can also be found working at Blackwell's. She is looking forward to raising awareness of the SYP's amazing events and opportunities.

Oxford University Student Liaison - Maddie Pollard
Madeleine is a second year undergraduate at Oxford University, studying English Literature. She is hoping to spread word of SYP’s exciting speaker events and valuable networking evenings across her university, encouraging attendance and engagement. With a passion for journalism and the arts, she currently works for The ISIS magazine and spent the summer of 2016 interning in South America with Bolivian Express. Madeleine also enjoys competing in her university’s cheerleading team.
Oxford University Student Liaison - Emma Woodcock
Emma is in her second year studying English Language and Literature at Oxford. She's the current president of the University's English Society, has worked for Cherwell and The Oxford Student and does a tiny bit of college rowing. Having previously undertaken work experience in the National Trust's publishing department and another small publishing company, she's looking forward to attending and publicising the SYP's events to students across the university.
