IYPY Winner Speaks With the SYP

One of the highlights of the recent London Book Fair was the International Young Publisher of the Year Award, which allowed us to see what the publishing industry is like in nine emerging markets. The SYP's Web Content Manager, Kevin Mahoney, managed to speak to the winner, S. Anand. Anand is the co-founder of Navayana, a publishing company inspired by the Buddhist ideals of the radical political thinker B. R. Ambedkar, a proponent of the anti-caste movement in India. Anand's book pitch was for Namdeo Dhasal: Poet of the Underworld (Poems 1972 - 2006), which has been translated into modern, vibrant English (read by great new British actor Joseph Kloska). The SYP would like to thank the British Council for their assistance in the making of this video, and thanks also to SYP Social Secretary for editing the video.
