SYP Annual Conference 2014: The Perfect Publisher

We are delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale for the Annual SYP Conference 2014 which is being hosted by the London  committee and will be held at the London College of Communications.

This year's theme is The Perfect Publisher and we have a whole host of interesting and inspiring speakers, beginning with a keynote  speech by Ursula Mackenzie, ceo at Little, Brown. Over the course of the day delegates will have the choice of 12 seminars on topics  ranging from the changing role of literary agents and editors, to consumer insight, branding and marketing campaigns, digital publishing, publishing entrepreneurs and the importance of bloggers and literary prizes.

There will be four streams that you can mix and match over the course of the day.

The first stream will focus on the world of Literary Agents and Editors and speakers include:

The second stream will focus on Sales, Marketing and Consumer Insight, and speakers include:

Mark Rusher, marketing director at Orion will present the marketing campaign for GONE GIRL by Gillian Flynn
Laura Di Giuseppe, brand manager at HarperFiction will talk about the Tolkien and Agatha Christie estates
Jo Henry, director at Nielsen Book Research
Kate Jervis, insight analyst at Penguin Random House
Damian Horner, brand development director at Hachette
Annalisa Langton, HR at the British Medical Journal

Jon Slack, development manager with the Book Marketing Society and director of literary festivals

The third stream will focus on the world outside the traditional publishing paradigm, focusing on bookshops and digital publishing, and speakers include:

The fourth and final stream will be the Big Ideas Seminars, focusing on literary prizes and reviews, entrepreneurs in publishing, and design and branding, and speakers include:
